How To Use PSDSpace.com

What's in a Name?

PSDSpace.com is powered by the psd2css Online engine. So the first thing you should probably do is read about Layer Naming Conventions.

Now that we have that all squared away - here are the couple of Layer Naming Conventions specific to PSDSpace.com:

  • '_profileInfo' - Add these letters to the name of a layer in your PSD file to tell PSDSpace.com where you want the Profile Information to appear. That's the section with your picture, your name, age, etc.
  • '_friendSpace' - A layer name with these letters in it will denote for PSDSpace.com where you want the list of your friends to appear
  • '_friendsComments' - If you name a layer in your PSD file with these letters in it, PSDSpace.com will put the Myspace section for Friends Comments at the position of this layer.
  • '_contactTable' - These letters in a PSD layer name will tell PSDSpace.com where to put the Contact Table in your new Myspace page layout.

What About All the Other Layer Naming Conventions I See At psd2css Online?

Well, those would all be awesome here too. And some of them work - BUT Myspace doesn't allow any javascript to be added to their pages so many of the special effects that you can do with Layer Naming conventions over at psd2css Online just won't work here.

A Word About Layers...

So the first thing you want to do is make a Myspace page out of some art you made with 200 layers, right? Nope - don't do it! Merge those layers together into one or just a few layers. It will make your Myspace page load a LOT faster and will also get you around the problem that Myspace only allows z-index up to 10. for the CSS that we add.
